Bonsai by the Harbour

The new format Bonsai by the Harbour was a great success. Demonstrations on Saturday, workshops Sunday and a Sydney wide club display worked well.

Saturday started with Ray and Clinton Nesci. Ray brought four of his maples, ranging from enormous to shohin and entertained the audience with their histories and habits.

Jarryd Bailey (Montane Bonsai), Hugh Grant (Tree Makers) and Andrew Edge (Unryu-en- see Facebook ) worked on a variety of trees, both native and exotic and demonstrated what talented artists they are.

Spirits were high, food was good and the new format of an inter club display showcased many excellent trees.

There was a good range of bonsai containers from potters Denise Edgerton and Lyn Smith and beautiful Japanese ceramics from Grant Bowie for sale.

Thanks to Garry Uebergang and the committee for organising such an enjoyable weekend.
