This is a great time to bring tropical species such as figs and bougainvillea to work on. Root pruning and styling are both possible, so make sure you bring everything you’ll need if you want to spend your evening developing these species.
Pruning the foliage and styling of your deciduous trees and conifers is also appropriate during November, as many trees will be growing vigorously. If you are unsure of the next step to take with these species, bring them along to discuss ideas with other members and to learn how best to develop your collection.
Don’t forget that in December there will be no workshop meeting on the 3rdTuesday, but that we are planning a special fig workshop meeting for our normal meeting on the 1st Tuesday of December. Figs are great plants to work on if you are new to the art of bonsai, because they are very easy to grow and also difficult to kill!
